Warranty overview
- Most products sold by Seatech Marine Products are covered by the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, not a separate Seatech warranty.
- Warranty terms vary by manufacturer, product line, application, installation, and use case.
- Warranty coverage is determined by the manufacturer or by Seatech Marine Products in consultation with the manufacturer when applicable.
- Warranty review does not guarantee approval, replacement, credit, refund, labor reimbursement, or freight reimbursement.
- Seatech Marine Products may assist with warranty review, but final warranty approval may depend on manufacturer inspection and confirmation.
Manufacturer warranty notes
| Product line | Warranty note | Important conditions |
|---|---|---|
| NHK MEC KE Controls | NHK MEC normally warrants KE controls for 2 years from date of purchase or 3 years from date of manufacturing. For high-duty commercial applications, the warranty period is normally 1 year from point of sale or 2 years from date of manufacturing. Some exceptions may apply case-by-case. | Warranty requires confirmation of a defective product. Incorrect installation, improper or abusive operation, or unauthorized modification/repair may void warranty coverage. |
| Dometic / SeaStar / Schmitt / other manufacturers | Warranty terms vary by manufacturer, product category, serial number, and application. | Follow the manufacturer’s current written warranty, installation instructions, service procedures, and claim requirements. |
| Special order, electronics, major equipment, and manufacturer-direct shipments | These products may be non-returnable but may still be eligible for manufacturer warranty review. | Warranty approval may require photos, serial numbers, installation details, troubleshooting steps, inspection, or return to the manufacturer. |

Common questions
Can a non-returnable item still have warranty coverage?
Yes. Some products are non-returnable for refund or credit but may still be eligible for manufacturer warranty review if there is a confirmed defect within the applicable warranty period.
Who decides if a product is defective?
Warranty approval may require confirmation by the manufacturer, Seatech Marine Products, or both. Some claims require inspection, troubleshooting, photos, or return of the product before approval.
Are labor or installation costs covered?
Labor, installation, removal, haul-out, travel, downtime, lost revenue, and related costs are not normally covered unless the manufacturer approves them in writing.
Can I send a customer directly to the manufacturer?
Manufacturer procedures vary. Contact us first if the product was purchased through Seatech Marine Products so we can help determine the correct warranty process.
